Thanks Adam!

I had to drop Mississauga down to a half because the winter training schedule was just too insane with work and bad weather.

I'm currently training for the Toronto Marathon in October. I'm not sure if I'm going to have time to do this though. We'll see.

For me the main thing is enjoying running - not being signed up for events. Races aren't the organising principle for me. I'm not a competitive or aggressive person that way. I am a zen runner.

A little late finding this post, but wow! That got my heart racing. Coming from a family of triathletes and marathoners, I've never done one, but I've always had it in my mind that I should, at least once. That Spirit of the Marathon video you shared a while back on twitter was a shot of inspiration. How's training going for the Mississuaga marathon? Congratulations on finishing your first one strong! That's amazing!

Thanks so much Trula and Andrea! I appreciate these comments.

Love the story about heartbreak - no doubt of interest to many runners :)

Hello Melanie, I found your blog via the #running hashtag on twitter. I too am Canadian and work in new media :) Anyhow, just wanted to give you a heads up on how Heartbreak Hill received the moniker..
"The nickname "Heartbreak Hill" originated with an event in the 1936 race. On this stretch, defending champion John A. Kelley caught race leader Ellison "Tarzan" Brown, giving Brown a consolatory pat on the shoulder as he passed. His competitive drive apparently stoked by this gesture, Tarzan Brown rallied, pulled away from Kelley, and went on to win—in the words of Boston Globe reporter Jerry Nason, "breaking Kelley's heart."
