Web Weekend Vancouver

mmwebweek.jpgI just returned from another wonderful Magazines Canada Web Weekend event where I presented my talk “Magazines2.0: User is King” to a dynamic and engaged group of Mags Canada member publications. Find out more about my presentation below …

Magazines2.0: User is King

As you might have guessed by the title, my talk provides a user-centric perspective on must-have web2.0 social and participatory media tools and trends for the non-geek print professional. I offer an argument for adoption, definitions, “hit and miss” examples, must-have features and the basic metrics of social and participatory media. My key focus includes:

  • What RSS, blogs, bookmarking tools can do to extend your brand and increase traffic
  • Usability considerations for the location and identification of social media tools
  • Definitions, examples and metrics of web2.0 social and participatory media features

Want to know more? I’ll be presenting again at Web Weekend in Edmonton on March 30 and at Magazines Canada’s MagNet event in June. Visit Magazines Canada for more information about the Web Weekend series and other professional development programs.

NOTE: If you are a member publication of Magazines Canada you may also be eligible for their traveling consultant program, where specialists (like me) provide a day-long consultation in our area of expertise with assessment and recommendations to fit with your budget and market.
