For the record, as I detail on my About page, I do NOT research “smell,” “functional olfaction,” or “sensory psychology.” My work is concerned, instead, with the material contingencies of applied practices that involve learning and knowing ‘from the inside out’ (with-and-through skilled practice) in the context of production and making, as opposed to ‘consumption.’ Accordingly, I am unable to contribute to talks, lectures, or workshops that are preoccupied with ‘smell’ in the context of emotions, memories, etc (and which is a focus on aroma that my work explicitly critiques).
